Box Office Weekend Report: May 18,2013

This past week of Summer has been one of the greatest weekends for Hollywood. A lot of movies have been released these past 2 months and some have broken the records of previous successes in Hollywood ever.

MoviesXclusive brings you the insight of this month's box office charts and discuss the successes of some new films in home and overseas.

#1. Iron Man 3:

Released worldwide on May 3, 2013,Marvel's Iron Man 3 was the Second Biggest Opening ever in Hollywood. With $174.1 million opening on Box Office, Iron Man 3 broke the success records of previous Marvel's motion pictures, finishing 2nd after The Avengers (opening weekend gross total of $207.8 million).

However, it did beat 'The Avengers' in International release where Iron Man 3 debuted wih $195.3 million haul.In just 15 days of release, Iron man 3 has already entered the $1 billion elite group. 

#2. The Great Gatsby:

Warner Brothers's 'The Great Gatsby' had a successful opening greater than expected. Although, Iron Man 3 is ranked #1, yet people were attracted to this Leonardo Dicaprio lifestyle.This movie has already earned $50.1 million over 3500+ theatres worldwide.

#3. Star Trek: Into Darkness

Released worldwide on May 17,2013, Paramount's Star Trek: Into Darkness debuted with $13.5 million which are disappointing results to previous releases in Star Trek episodes.

I know, this may not be the movie you awaited for. But,hey it sure looks to be one time watch. It is the next installment in its series. Previously, we learned about Flint Lockwood's amazing food machine that went rogue. This year, we get a whole new level of excitement, crazy and Food!!!!

Movie In Focus: The Wolverine (2013)
